GENERAL INFORMATION

What is a Check-Up?

"Check-Up" is a "personal health screening" which includes a comprehensive history and physical examination, as well as focused testing. The purpose of a Check-Up is to identify health disorders in their preclinical stages, that is, before one develops any complaints or visible signs of disease.

What are the benefits of a Check-Up?

Based on history, clinical exam, and test findings, you may be advised on how to change habits to improve your health (eliminating or cutting down in smoking or alcohol, increasing weekly exercise, balancing one’s diet, etc.) and/or may be given prescriptions to treat asymptomatic problems (eg. high blood pressure). In these ways, the onset of diseases may be prevented or delayed, and asymptomatic but serious problems may be caught at an early stage, making successful treatment possible.

Diseases or important health risks, which may not be apparent to patients, include diabetes, high cholesterol, coronary heart disease, liver disease (eg. secondary to alcohol or hepatitis), breast cancer, cervical/uterine cancer, colon cancer, anemia and osteoporosis.

Upon arrival at the hospital, an EKG is performed at the Check-Up Clinic and a fasting blood sample taken for routine tests. Vital signs are taken, then the physician takes a comprehensive history and performs a general physical examination. The lab is informed regarding any additional tests to be run on the blood that was drawn earlier, and then the patient proceeds to our Department of Radiology for imaging studies. After the ultrasound scan, the patient is allowed to eat and a snack is given. A hospital official assists each patient throughout his/her Check-Up in order to facilitate the process.

Appointments for the various Check-Up programs are given Monday-Saturday between 8:30 and 10:30 in the morning. The Check-Up exams and results are completed on the same day (results are given at 3 pm at the latest).

Our Check-Up programs benefit those who desire an efficient, complete personal health screening and up-to-date advice based on exam and test results.

Please obtain an appointment for one of our Check-Up programs by calling 444-53 68 from within Turkey, or +90-232-3981100 ext 3000 from overseas.

When coming for a scheduled Check-Up:

Arrive in a fasting state, because blood tests are done which require no food is eaten during the previous 10 hours. Drinking water before coming is OK.

If available, bring prior EKGs, X-rays, CT scans and test results with you.
