Smoking should not be allowed in environments where the children live. Who sees the greatest harm from smoking are "passive smoker" children. Smoking near children increases the risk of developing diseases such as cancer in their following periods and respiratory diseases such as sudden infant death, acute middle ear inflammation, asthma or respiratory infections.  

In addition, frequency and severity acute lower respiratory tract infection, acute middle ear inflammation, sleep disorder, pneumonia, meningitis (inflammation of the brain membrane) and asthma episode increase accordingly. Symptoms such as coughing, sputum, nasal congestion especially in children since its mother has smoked are seen much more often. Higher sudden death propensity has been found out in the babies with whom it is has been smoked.
