Fat build-up and sagging may occur on front and lateral parts of tummy due to the reasons such as genetically or putting on weight, ageing, giving birth etc.  This is a surgery that may be solution for women and men with skin sagging not responding to diet and exercise but having smooth body contours and women having undergone several giving birth operations, cracks and sagging on abdominal skin and weakened abdominal muscles. It would be beneficial to postpone this surgery for those with intention of losing weight and giving birth. 

Tummy Tuck surgery (abdominoplasty) is a surgical intervention performed alone for fixing such kinds of problems by using in combination with liposuction. In this surgery, it is intended to achieve an aesthetic abdominal look by removing excess skin and subcutaneous fat tissue and tightening loosened muscles.

Generally 2 types of tummy tuck surgery are performed as "mini" and "major".  Mini type tummy tuck surgery is intended for the persons complaining about excess on bottom area of abdomen and excess on skin and subcutaneous fat tissue is removed on this section. Connection site of abdomen with skin is maintained. Major type tummy tuck surgery is preferred for preventing excesses and excess skin sagging on both upper and lower sections.

Hospital stay: Generally 1-2 days
Possible discomforts: Temporary pain, swelling in the abdominal skin, tenderness, numbness and purpleness remaining for several weeks.
Possible Risks: Infection, bleeding under skin, prominent skin scar due to poor healing and skin damage.
Recovery period:
Back to work: 2-3 weeks, but corsets are worn for 6 weeks and no heavy load is lifted.
Heavy exercise: 4-6 weeks
Scars become smooth and vague. 3 months- 1 year
